Worship Team
As a Church of England school we encourage and support our children to play an active role in planning and leading Collective Worship. We have our own school 'Worship Team' made up of volunteers who have various responsibilities including; preparing resources for the daily act of Collective Worship, working with Mrs Handford to plan services at our village Church and assisting in our Celebration Assembly each Friday morning, where the achievements of the week, both in school and outside school, are shared and celebrated. This is just one of the ways in which as a school we develop young leaders and greater spiritual and social understanding through the wider curriculum.
The Worship Team will meet on a half termly basis alongside the RE Leader, Mrs Handford, to record children’s reflections and perceptions on worship in our school. This will be a great opportunity for children to monitor and evaluate current practice and also to suggest new ideas. It will also allow the children to be involved in improving our Collective Worship and other areas of our Christian distinctiveness around school.
